Rain; O rain of exhilarating times
Our requests are somewhat selfish after all
Come, pervade our land
Our sorrows, come wash away
Rain; O rain of joyful moments
Come roll down the slopes of these hilly farmlands
There, some plants have made an abode
The plants, our lifeline, cause to flourish again
As their vibrant green, our colour, we wish to see again
Then, there is a valley
Our river, from the drought, dried up
Your unsparing nature should favour us there too
Fill our rivers with life
In your awakened spirit, rain in our hamlet
Rain on all our homes, bring solace and glee
Tell our old folks, the sorrowful days have gone by
And with bounteous harvests, home we would come
In our restive spirit, we endured the crying nights of drought
Those birds; the birds who feed on petals
They too will now be able to fly again
That dry turbulent period;
It has soaked away
A beautiful time is springing
And the sun of blessing will also come to make the days brighter
